AI for People with Dementia

Amidst the rapid rise of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in recent years, our project delves into its potential benefits for individuals coping with dementia and age-related cognitive changes. Our focus is on understanding how these emerging technologies are perceived by people with dementia and how they might enhance their daily lives. Collaborating closely with the National Council of Dementia Minds, we’ve conducted insightful focus groups and introduced individuals with dementia to various generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Fireflies.AI, among others. Our ultimate goal is to leverage these findings to shape the development of future AI technologies tailored specifically for individuals with dementia, aiming to improve their quality of life and provide invaluable support.
